My path into this work has taken me through some pretty formative places.
On the community and mental health side, I completed a practicum at the Native Friendship Centre, worked in a mental health and addictions clinic while preparing for my board exams, and travelled to East Harlem, NYC to earn my NADA certification in acupuncture detoxification. I also hold a certificate in trauma, PTSD, and recovery through the lens of East Asian Medicine. One of the experiences that shaped me most was three weeks volunteering in rural Nepal with the Acupuncture Relief Project, treating local farmers in a community setting far from anything clinical.
Musculoskeletal pain and injury is an area I have invested deeply in. Through extensive postgraduate training, I have developed a thorough understanding of assessment, motor points, electroacupuncture, manual soft tissue therapy, and how to distinguish between mechanical and chronic systemic pain. My focus areas include the shoulder and upper extremity, low back and hips, and lower extremity. I have worked with professional teams and athletes, and that hands on experience continues to shape how I approach sports and orthopedic care.
Pregnancy, fertility, and postpartum care has been a significant part of my clinical journey. I spent meaningful time at Mighty Oak Midwifery in Kamloops supporting hundreds of patients through fertility treatments, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery. My studies deepened my understanding of PCOS, endometriosis, IVF support, perimenopausal fertility, reproductive autoimmune conditions, and the psychology and ethics of navigating infertility.
If your goals live anywhere in these areas, mental health, injury recovery, or fertility support, I would be honoured to work with you.
